Discussion : Picturing New York Monday 23 November, 5.00pm, the johnston suite, IMMA Sarah Meister, Curator, Department of Photography at the Museum of Modern Art, introduces Picturing New York, an exhibition of 150 photographs from the MoMA collection, demonstrating the symbiotic relationship of a city’s progression from past to present and the evolution of the photographic medium. This is followed by an illustrated presentation by renowned American photographer Tod Papageorge, who discusses key themes that run through his photographic practice and how these relate to specific works featured in this exhibition. Discussion concludes with an open discussion.
