Studio 8 of the Season on Sat 24 April

Drop in anytime between 11am to 4pm on Saturday 24 April and meet co-coordinator Lynn Mc Grane in Studio 8. IMMA Mediators Aidan O Sullivan and Ciara Murray will be leading a workshop related to the exhibition Vertical Thoughts: Morton Feldman and the Visual Arts

Morton Feldman is widely considered to be one of the most influential composers of the second half of the 20th-century. The exhibition comprises of works composed by Feldman, paintings by fourteen artists associated with him and objects from his personal collection that inspired his music. The workshop will explore the relationship between Feldman’s collection of Persian rugs and the abstract paintings of Mondrian, Rothko and Reinhardt. We will make works that respond to the relationship between the colour and the geometric shapes found in both the rugs and the paintings.

A space dedicated to young people aged 15-18 years at the Irish Museum of Modern Art.
