What is Participatory and Relational Art ?

What is.. talk series provides a general introduction to key concepts and themes in contemporary art. Brian Hand, artist, writer and lecturer, responds to this subject by presenting a paper titled, A struggle at the roots of the mind: service and solidarity in dialogical, relational and collaborative perspectives in art. Hand focuses on three aspects of Participatory Arts: Dialogical Aesthetics, Relational Aesthetics and collaborative projects, as a means of exploring some of the key issues which inform and shape contemporary Participatory Arts practice.

This talk is supported by an information leaflet which includes summary information about the topic, an essay and supplementary resource material including bibliography, resources and a glossary of terms.
