Studio 10 - gallery sessions for adults
Click here for more information FAMILIESNew Year Workshops for Families at IMMA On Tuesday 3, Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 January 2012 between 2pm and 4pm, families are invited on a guided tour of the Rivane Neuenschwander exhibition followed by a collage workshop. Free, drop-in, ages +4 to 10, New Galleries. IMMA Art Trails Bronze, Steel, Natural Materials: The three new IMMA trails have arrived! Beautiful maps featuring outdoor works from the IMMA Collection are available free of charge in the galleries.

Tell us about your experience of the artworks on exhibition, make an artwork with the materials in the room (graphite pencils, colouring pencils, paper) or have a look at what other visitors have written or drawn in response to their experiences at IMMA.

IMMA’s family programme, Explorer, welcomes children and adults to experience art works and art making together on Sunday afternoons, in the company of two of IMMA’s gallery staff, the Mediators. Explorer is: - Free and drop-in
- On Sundays between 2.00pm to 4.00pm
- The maximum number of participants is 35 (adults and children), so arriving early is advised
- Projects are designed for children aged 4 to 10 years old
- Project themes are repeated over two consecutive Sundays

TEENCREATE PROGRAMME The TeenCreate programme aims to provide 12-15 year olds with all levels of creative experience with a variety of opportunities to connect with IMMA. Monthly sessions take place in Studio 10 at IMMA on the dates below. They consist of a tour/discussion and an art-making workshop led by IMMA mediators (Gallery staff). Saturday 21 January, 2.30 - 5.00pm Saturday 10 March, 2.30 - 5.00pm On Saturday 21 January from 2.30-5.00 pm, IMMA mediators will be leading a gallery discussion and workshop based on the solo exhibition A Day Like Any Other by Brazilian artist Rivane Neuenschwander. This retrospective exhibition features works from Neuenschwander’s vast and varied practice. The workshop will focus on the artist’s paintings, and participants will be invited to create paintings of architectural spaces similar to Neuenschwander’s. The Studio 8 programme aims to provide young people with a variety of opportunities to connect with IMMA.
Gallery/studio sessions for 15-18 year olds will take place from Studio 10, IMMA, on the below dates. These sessions, facilitated by IMMA Mediators (Gallery staff), will comprise a gallery tour/discussion and an art-making workshop.

• Saturday 28 January, 11am - 2pm, in association with the Rivane Neuenschwander: A Day Like Any Other exhibition. In this session IMMA mediators Olive Barrett and Barry Kehoe will focus on Neuenschwander’s installation, The Conversation. After a gallery discussion, participants will focus on the layering, building, tearing, and ripping of materials to form a piece of artwork in the studio.
• Saturday 3 March, 11am - 2pm, in association with the Conversations: Photography from the Bank of America Collection exhibition

WORKSHOPS IMMA offers a range of once-off and ongoing workshops to provide people with an opportunity to create work in response to their experiences visiting the gallery spaces and meeting artists. Workshops are led by professional artists and members of the Museum's Mediators (gallery-based staff). Workshops take place in Studios 8, 9 and 10, and also in the galleries. STUDIO10/GALLERY SESSIONS FOR ADULTS Studio10/Gallery Sessions at the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) are for adults of all levels of creative experience and combine facilitated exhibition tours, discussions, art-making and more. They are an excellent springboard for engaging with modern and contemporary art. Sessions are scheduled in blocks, with each block focussing on a particular exhibition at the Museum and being facilitated by two IMMA Mediators (gallery staff). Blocks comprise of three consecutive weekly sessions that take place 10am-1pm on Fridays, based from Studio 10, IMMA. Blocks of sessions are free of charge, however, booking is essential. Depending on availability, booking more than one block on sessions is possible provided these do not run consecutively. Places are allocated on a first-come/first-served basis. To book a tour please click here. Artists' Residency Programme visits Groups can organise to meet one or more of the artists working on IMMA’s Artists Residency Programme in the Museum’s studios. All visits to the Artists Residency Programme are free of charge but advanced booking is required.
